RHS Chelsea Flower Show

Back in May I finally visited RHS Chelsea Flower Show. I’ve been wanting to go for the last few years to soak up all of the beautiful floral inspiration, this year was the perfect year to finally go as I’m also working on ideas for the garden in our new house. I could have spent the whole week there, browsing all of the wonderful stalls inside the tent, and peering in to the beautifully designed show gardens.

There was colour inspiration everywhere, with the pinks & purples particularly standing out to me, against all of the gorgeous neutrals.

I loved the innovative displays that the stall holders had created too - even the ones that weren’t plant growers themselves had come up with some impressive floral displays. This chest of drawers full of blooms was one of the first things I spotted when we arrived - how beautiful is that?

The floral highlights for me were the peonies (which have featured a LOT in my sketchbooks since the trip) irises, clematis and fuchsias. My camera roll is full of floral inspo that’ll keep me filling up sketchbook pages for months to come.

This is definitely going to become a trip for me. I found the day so inspiring and just wanted to spend the week drawing beautiful blooms once I got back.
